Gopesh Tewari

Gopesh is a PlanAdapt Fellow, based in New Delhi, India.

He is a purpose-driven international development leader with nearly 20 years of progressive experience spanning education, skills development, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), knowledge sharing, agriculture, rural development, digital transformation, and cluster-based development approaches. He has led and supported initiatives across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, with a focus on economically just and socially inclusive development in the Global South to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Gopesh has a proven track record in managing multimillion-dollar, cross-sectoral programs, strategic planning, resource mobilization, and international research for development collaboration. His expertise includes capacity strengthening, adult learning, e-learning, peer learning, and pedagogical innovation. He is highly experienced in knowledge services management, research-for-impact facilitation, and the application of systems thinking to enhance institutional effectiveness and development outcomes.

Throughout his career, Gopesh has worked with leading CGIAR centers - IRRI, CIMMYT, and ICRISAT—as well as NGOs and private sector partners. He has successfully led projects funded by multilateral development banks (MDBs), co-created development solutions with diverse stakeholders, and advised governments on policy development and strategic planning.

Deeply committed to transformative action, Gopesh is passionate about inclusive learning systems, scalable innovations for well-being, and sustainable development.

He holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology for Agriculture and a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, complemented by numerous certifications and diplomas in SDG-related themes.
